DAYTIME IN THE CLUB
During the day, the Club hosts a variety of activities, including offering a light lunch from Monday to Friday at the bar or in the coffee room.
Activities are (with the exception of Pilates) initiated and run by members with an interest in the subject.
Activities include:
Art: members of the Art group meet weekly to draw and paint a variety of subjects and in a variety of styles. The group is open to all abilities, and the more experienced help and advise those just starting for the first time to pick up a pencil or charcoal or a paintbrush.
Art appreciation: the group meets half a dozen times a year to discuss the work of different artists, led by the group moderator.

Book Club: The book group meets once a month in which each member chooses their book and a lively discussion takes place in which the book is then judged 1 - 10. At the end of the year the book given the highest score is judged "Book of the Year". An intelligent and lively array of book readers thoroughly enjoy these sessions.
Bridge: the group meets once a week in the afternoon and plays for 2 hours, with anything from 4 to 8 tables, meeting convivially in the bar afterwards. Friendly tables play Chicago or rubber, and occasionally host competitions with members of the Cheltenham Bridge Club.

Choir: A large choir practises weekly to give two concerts a year culminating in a marvellous Carol concert for the members on our beautiful Regency staircase
Flower Arranging: A group of artistic men and women meet once a week to arrange flowers for the club, both for the main rooms and tables. Ikebana is sometimes used as well.
Golf: a number of members play weekly at different courses, both friendly games and competitions.

Ladies Lunches: these take place every three months, when ladies are invited to wear their best dresses and enjoy the company of new friends and taste delicious lunches with wines. Sometimes a guest speaker is invited.
Learning Italian: weekly classes, starting with absolute beginners and moving on to more experienced speakers, together with practising speaking in Italian conversation groups.
Memoir writing: the members of the group write about 1000 words on topics selected by the group each month and read them aloud to each other before discussing them.
Music: a monthly group which meets to discuss music of all genres and periods.

Pilates: there are classes on two mornings a week, taught by experienced Pilates instructors and taking place in the club.

Rambling: An active rambling group meets monthly exploring the Cotswolds culminating in a good pub lunch!
Scrabble: members meet weekly in the coffee room for friendly games.

Snooker: weekly games of snooker involve teaching beginners as well as playing friendly or competitive games. There is a ladies group as well as a mens, and everyone ends up in the bar for a light supper.
Quiz: A monthly gathering of teams fills in the fiercest of questions for our Quiz Nights!
